Troja Château (Trojský zámek) is one of the most magnificent Baroque residences in Prague, located in the picturesque district of Troja, near Prague Zoo and the Vltava River. Built in the late 17th century for Count Václav Vojtěch of Sternberg, the château was designed by the renowned architect Jean Baptiste Mathey, who drew inspiration from elegant Italian Baroque villas.
The château is surrounded by beautiful French-style gardens, decorated with fountains, sculptures and an impressive grand staircase featuring mythological scenes of the Olympian gods battling the Titans. One of its most remarkable features is the magnificent Imperial Hall, adorned with extraordinary ceiling frescoes by Abraham and Isaac Godyn, celebrating the glory of the Habsburg dynasty.
