The temple was built in 1730-1736 years & was projected by the architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, one of the best masters of the Czech Baroque. The iconostasis of the church was founded by the Yugoslav painter Svetoslav Vukovich by the project of the professor V.A.Brandta. The Bulgarian Orthodox Church donated the temple an icon of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Slovenian teachers. Since 1951 the Cathedral of Ss. Cyril and Methodius is the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Czechoslovak Orthodox Church.
Details about the Orthodox wedding in the Czech Republic is for couples who have not yet made up in a civil marriage:
- The couple must provide all necessary documents for civil marriage;
- Orthodox wedding can be carried out also for divorced people;
- The duration of the ceremony is about 40-60 minutes;
- According to the law, on the ceremony is requires the presence of two witnesses;
- The priest performs the ceremony in Russian, English or Czech languages;
- If you are already in the civil marriage, you can arrive to the wedding ceremony day before the wedding.
